Car trade in value change after accident? Can somebody generally tell me that how much car trade in value decreased after a accident (2003 Jeep Liberty Limited, good mileages, the car is repairable)? and how to negotiate with Insurance on this?
trade-in my car..it's value/worth? trade in 2007 Lexus IS 250, 56K miles, no body damage boyfriend (now my ex) bought me the damn car but I want to trade-in for a toyota hatch back (i know, way to stimulate our economy) or some just little car... kelly blue book hasn't always been my best resource as i have found dealers have given me far better deals in the past (without even mentioning the computer source) is the car trading value loss? it was paid in full/solely for me. thank you.
Will a minor accident (and repaired) damage affect this car's trade-in value? I'm looking at purchasing a 2008 Honda Civic SI coupe with 33k miles in great condition at a great price. It has an accident report on its Carfax, but not a salvage title or anything. It was just a taxi that backed into the door, the cab company paid for it, and it was completely repaired. I won't be keeping the car for too long because I will probably trade it in within a year. Will this affect the cars trade-in value? Thanks!
What is the difference between a cars trade-in value and a cars retail value? My consumer math assignment says : " Mr. Johnson found on the internet that his car had a 'trade-in value' of $4295 but a 'retail value of $9110. Check the internet and find out what these values mean and why such a difference exists." But I have looked for that and all I can find is the trade in values for specific cars...please help me?
Trade in value of your car, is that a down payment? I wondering how this works. When you trade in your car, does that value = a down payment for a new car? Trade in value = $15000 Owe= $5000 New car price = $30000 Price with Negative Equity = $35000 Does that $15000 = a down payment ? so your total finance is $20000 ??
Want to trade in car...car value? I want to trade my car, (live in WA state). I own a Honda CRV 97' nice interior/exterior, do you know the car value for this? Ive checked the blue book, but I thought Id ask a person. And also, The car Im looking for is a Acura TL I know I would have to make payments because my ol' car wont do it! Has anyone been inside an Acura TL? Nice?
Does having a car loan affect its trade in value? I know that a car's trade in value has as much to do with negotiating than the car's so called book value and things like big repairs and even minor accidents, even if they've been repaired, can make a difference if they show up on a CarFax, But does whether I paid cash or if financed the car I want to trade when I bought it new actually make a difference as far as its trade in value goes? I'm asking because dealers always ask if there's a loan and so do some independent appraisers. Dealers always say the just want to know so when they make me an offer they know how much they need to pay off instead of putting it toward the new car. I know they do this to jumble all the numbers together to make it harder to tell exactly what price they want for the new car and how much they want to give in trade and I always tell them no and make sure we've negotiated the price for the new car before even telling them I have a trade in the first place, but does the bank lien actually matter when it comes to how much the trade in is worth? Would it be different if I just paid off the loan before going to the dealer? The only reason I ask is because an online appraisal service that's not affiliated with any dealer also asks if there's a loan or not before giving an estimated trade in value. I know the dealer would just as soon have the title immediately so it can sell the car right away without having to pay off the loan and wait for the title to come, but do they really look at this as something that impacts the car value? Thanks for any help anybody who knows first hand can give.
any info on car trade-in value and the clean air act? i am about to buy a new car and have an old 95 accord that i wanted to trade in. friend told me that there's a "clean air act" or something like that where the government will issue a check for $3000 (or so) for a car that's as old as mine, regardless of the condition if i trade it in. if you know of any links to website with relevant info, it would be most appreciate. thanks!

Purchasing car with value of trade-in? Hello I need some advise on how to tackle my car purchasing task. I would like to upgrade my current car with a pre-owned car from same manufacture by purchasing the pre-owned car using trade-in value of my present car. Is this kind of transation entertained by dealers? Or do they act all non-interested? Both the cars are high demand cars of same year and make. The pre-owned I am interested has same milage and feature as my present car. However the pre-owned car is listed at a lower price compared value of my present car being sold by the dealer. Any advise and suggestion would highly be appreciated.
I got screwed over in a car trade in Pennsylvania need some advice? i traded my car that was worth 20 grand for a "saleen mustang s351(by the sellers own words)", to an individual seller, i only did a carfax on the vin, and later checked to see if it was a real saleen through vin(its a heavily modded car) and found out it was not, so my car i now have is only worth around 4 grand(instead of 20 as well.) I'm wondering through Pennsylvania laws how i can get my car that's worth 20 grand back and what chances i have of getting it back, also we did a trade so car value was 1$ so we would be in district courts.
Question concerning trade in value of car? Four months ago i bought a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am for 5,600.00. I am not to happy with it. Since then the engine has been running loud, minor electrical problems. I was wondering if I were to trade it in what the trade in value would be? Like how much would would the car have deprecated?
Used car trade in value? What guide do dealers use when determining the trade in value on used cars? I have a 2005 Honda civic with lower miles (28000) and the trade in value I am finding on Edmunds and Kelly blue book is about $2000 HIGHER than what 3 different local dealers are offering me so I am just trying to determine what would be considered a good basis for me to take to them when they show it lower than I do.
What would you do in my delima regarding a new car and owing money on a trade in? i recently traded in my 01 tacoma for a smaller toyota yaris. i still owed 16000 on the truck and the trade in value was only 8250. i still owed 7750 which got added onto the price of my new car. my combined total for the new car was about 27,000 to finance. my bank would'nt even deal with me because the amount financed exceeds 20% of the cars value which is only 17,000. so toyota financed me and we wrote a contract. today i was told toyota cannot finance me because, like my bank, it is too much of a risk. i am in possession of the new car, they still have my truck...at least i hope they do, and i already have 1,000 miles on the new ride. i was told the only way it will work out for toyota to finance me is for me to put more money down which i dont have or for them to jack up my interest rate. what should i do? tell them to screw off because i already have a contract? what will happen if they want the car back with 1000 miles on it? make me pay for the wear and tear?
Avoiding California tax on car Trade-Ins? Is it possible to avoid California trade-in Tax by trading equal value cars in dealers?? Lets say if dealer charges me 25000 for the car and they consider my car's worth as 25000 then I dont have to pay tax since there is no difference in cost right?? What else is there that I have to pay other than the tax when this happens? such as lisense fee etc?? and how much?? Thanks

Will servicing my car myself affect its trade-in value? A bit fed up with dealers charging excessive amounts of money for servicing. I am more than capable of performing them myself, but will this affect the trade-in value of my car when I come to part exchange it against a new car at a dealership?
Car trading question ? What if you owe more than actual car value ? Ok so i am financing a 03 mitsu eclipse, tag proce was 17,000 more or less with interest i believe it ended up in low 21,000.00. I am looking to get rid off the car either by private sell or most likely a trade in. How does this work if i still owe 14000.00 on the car. Any ideas ? Suggestions, Help ? Is "cash for car" value much lower than "trade-in" value? I am gonna sell my car. The private party value of my car is $7800 and the trade-in value is $6200 according to Kelley Blue Book Pricing Report. How much would it be if I sell my car to some dealer to get "cash for car"? Thanks.
Estimated Trade In Value of a Car. And How it effects monthly payments.? Hi, when on a Lease/Financial Calculator when buying a car, what does "Estimated Trade Value" mean and how am i suppose to determine it? I went on the Mercedes Benz Website and was using the Lease Calculator on the ML350 (MSRP: $40,525) When i enter down payment as: 15,000 Estimated Trade in Value: 10,000 (im taking a stab at what it means) Length of Lease: 48 Months. Miles Per Year: 15,000 The monthly payments come out to be only $31 a month...somehow i just dont see that as being correct...however if I change the Estimated Trade in Value to 0, the monthly payments is 269. I just want to know what "Estimated Trade in Value" is. My guess is: It is the value of the car when the lease ends.
Should I trade in my 09 car at a 15% interest rate..? In june I purchased a 09 car I have a 15% interest rate and due to the economy car car values are decreasing. Should I trade in my car if I can get a less exspensive car and a lower rate? How does a car trade-in work? according to kelley blue book, the car is valued at 12,000 in FAIR condition. So when I go/speak to the dealership folks, I can expect it to not go below this 12,000 mark, right?? I will be financing (i have bad credit) through the dealership too. the additional question is: how can i also avoid being taken advantage of.
How much will a damaged bumper reduce my car's trade in value? Yes, I am familiar with Kelley Blue Book & the like...however, they're a bit vague...my car is in excellent condition despite a few minor, barely noticable carpet stains(the very bottom layer of carpet, it's beige..) and some damage to my front bumper. It is cracked on the right side with a small hole. Should I attempt to replace the entire bumper before trying to trade in my car to avoid getting ripped off, or will it not really be worth it?
Trade-In Value: Do Dealers Accept Any Car Condition? I have a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT. Kelly Blue Book Trade-In value of $2,970 in Fair Condition. The paint is chipping, it has a big dent on the quarter panel, and it's electrically malfunctioning as well. It has an after-market spoiler. The car is in bad condition, but not worst of the worst. Do car dealers accept just any cars for trade-in? I want to trade my car in ... Do they accept any cars in any condition?

Trade in value of my car? I am looking at trading my current car for something better on gas & cheaper monthly payments. I still owe 13k (roughly) on the car and the trade in value is between 7-8k Does the dealership take what I owe & minus the trade in value then tack on the rest to the purchase price of the car? I have never traded a car in before, so I'm not sure how this works.
Buying a used car, how much can I lower the price if the previous trade value was 6800? I was able to get in touch with the previous owner of a car I am going to be buying. She told me the trade in value they gave her was 6800. I asked the salesman to see what work they did to the car. It was less than $200. The MSRP is 12000 and they brough it down to 9988, internet sales price. I still feel I am getting ripped, how much can I expect to pay for this car?
Used car sell/trade in value calculator? Does anyone know how to find a good used car sell/trade in value calculator? I tried google, but I can't find anything that can go past 1980's. Any suggestions?
Trade-in value of car with previous accident? Say your car is worth $13,000 in trade-in value. Then say you are in an accident, there is body/paint work done etc. (no frame damage). How much is the car worth after the accident assuming the repair job was a good one.
how does a car salesman decide the trade in value of a car? I went to Taylor Kia. and I have a 93 caddy 175k fair condition. no dents or rust. i was only offered 200. But a co-worker went and was offered 900 for her 86 caviler. we are oppsite race/ 15 yrs apart in age. did they play apart.or is this correct. Just wondering if i should do business with them.

I couldn't afford the SL I want so I'm looking into getting a type S. Trade in value for wrecked car? I have a 2005 G35 Infiniti. It has been in two very minor fender benders and one wreck. The damage has been repaired, and the KBB value is 19,300...anyone know about what they will deduct from the value of the car because of the wreck? I am looking to trade it in.
Can I get trade in value for a second car on another car that I have already purchased? My husband and I are a 2 car family and we bought a new Volks Wagen a few months ago, because our family is expanding. Our second car is a 2002 Camaro that would be desirable in the area we live. We are now relocating out of the country and we would like to become a single car family, would the dealership beable to take our camarro, pay it off and put some money towards our Volks Wagen?
What would my car's trade in value be? It's a 1995 oldsmobile cutlass supreme. It has a fully rebuilt engine, new transmission, new ac compressor, new brake pads, new exhaust clips, a year warranty on the transmission. Less than a thousand miles on transmission, less than 3000 miles on engine. Exterior is in very good condition. Clean no rust. Driver side window has been fixed with a new motor. Needs freon if you want air. It runs and drives great im just curious on how much you would think it would go for im thinking at least 5000. It's a teal color.
How does a car trade-in work? I currently owe $13,000 on my car and according to the Kelley Blue Book...my car's trade-in value is $10,280. But I want to trade it in for a car that would probably be around $7-8,000 worth. How does a car trade-in work in my situation?

Can I trade my paid off car for a car of the same value? I would like to trade my (paid off )truck for a more economical car. The trade in value of my truck is $18000 according to Kelly Blue Book. Is it easy to try and buy a car that is around the same price? I know that dealerships want to make money, so will they lowball my truck in order to make money? Well I do live in a rural area where trucks are king! I'm averaging about 15mpg now and hope to get a car that gets close to 30mpg. I'll look at edmunds.com value and take both trade in values with me. One time I traded and the car dealer said they used edmunds and then my friend went to the same dealership and they said they used KBB!
Trying to trade my car and dealer is using "auction" value!? I'm trying to deal for a new car and have a great 2004 to trade in. I like to trade just so I don't have to go through the hassle of selling it myself. So Edmund's says $18,000 for "trade-in" value of my car but the Toyota dealer says $15,000 for "auction value" is all they'll give "because they lose money" paying "trade-in" value. Also, they're not getting close to cutting enough on the new car...according to Edmund's (and Kelly is close), these guys would make $3K on the trade for my old car plus $2,800 for the new car for a profit of $5,800!!! Usually, I get a new car for $300-500 profit for the whole deal--I figure the dealer can't stay in business for zero profit but I don't like to get clobbered either. Well I walked after seeing the sales manager--I said there wasn't any basis for discussion--also told them that lots of Toyota dealers out there. They've been calling me every other day since then. So has anyone heard of this "auction" value? I don't think its legitimate.
can i trade in a car i just bought with 5k mileage on it? i spent over 30k on this new car, i regret for spending so much now.. can i trade in for something cheaper? i already down 10k for that purchase.. i checked kbb for my car's trade in value's around 29k... i dunno if it's a good idea to trade in.. any advise?
When you trade-in a car towards another one, why is the value of the trade-in automatically lower than if...? you were to sell your vehicle privately? To me, a car is worth what it's worth. I don't understand how car dealers get away with having their own 'trade-in value', especially when they will just turn around and sell it for more. Seriously, does anyone know why this is so or when this first came to be? I'm talking about a car in mint condition, needing no repairs, all new tires, new brakes, no scratches, low mileage, clean in and out...why should they get a couple grand for having to do absolutely nothing?!
How do trade-ins work while money is still owed on a car? I owe about $38k more on my car, the trade-in value is around $35k. I'd like to trade it in for a car at the dealership marked at around $25-33k~ to lower my monthly payments. Is this feasible? How does this work? Would it be wiser to sell the car to a private party and buyout the loan with another private party's loan?
trading i a car, owe 22k trade in value 18k, should I pay off the balance (4K)? I currently owe 22k on my car loan, but my car's trade in valued was at 18k. My thought process is pay off the balance of what I owe on my car, which will leave me at an even price in regards to the car which I want to get (the new car I want is around 18K as well). I don't want to have monthly payments just the car insurance bill. If I go ahead and do that will it affect my chances of getting the same warranty as if I was financing or leasing the car?
